ALL ABOUT GMAT

GMAT is the abbreviation of Graduation management admission test, it is a test meant for people who are intending to do their MBA. Most of the business schools use the scores of GMAT as the criterion to assess the potential of the students. The weightage of the GMAT scores varies from school to school; the weightage to get into a business school is given to three categories: entrance scores, work experience and the interview skills. The GMAT examination is somewhat similar to the entrance test like SAT or the GRE. The GMAT consists of two sections the written section consisting of two essays and a quantitative and a verbal section.

The written section also called as the Analytical Writing Assignment, in the first essay the student has to analyze an argument and in the other one the student has to analyze an issue. The student is rated on a scale of six points.

In the next section of quantitive and verbal questions, this is a computer based test. The quantitive section has 37 questions testing on the problem solving and data presentation levels. The verbal section consists of 41 questions based on the comprehension of the reading blocks, analytical reasoning skills and the grammatical aspects like correcting the sentences.
