Lakhs of Indian graduates after having taken up the Common admission test in November, 2008 are now awaiting their call letters. The most premier Indian institute IIM Ahmedabad has sent given away the call letters to almost 1000 students. The institute has seen almost seen 38000 aspirants to the valuable 306 students. There were about 3336 students who had crossed the cut off criteria of the institute but the institute has short listed 1000 students to attend the final rounds of group discussion and personal interview. On the other hand the state topper of the entrance test has already received the call letters from the six IIM, but the topper who has just completed his IIT engineering says that he prefers to join the ITC factory which he has got through the campus placements.
